Please join us for NATHAN CLARK's art opening tonight at Hopworks Urban
Brewery! Hopworks is a brand new brewery focused on organic beer,
sustainability, and support of the local community.
The art at Hopworks is now curated by Martha Wallulis and Ben Pink.
This
show is featuring the large and dynamic abstract works of Nathan Clark.
You have got to see these paintings in person to check out their full
impact! There is a lovely juxtaposition between spontaneity and
control. Nathan is not only a very talented painter but a musician as
well, and is part of LES FLANEURS.
The live music tonight will
be by Nathan himself and LEONARD MYNX. The show is open and free to the
public, all ages welcome to come check out the art. There will be a
beer tasting for the 21+ crowd as well as appetizers.
Come join us to support these talented artists and also in celebration of the opening of Hopworks!
Nathan's art will be on display through about September 9. Please be sure to check it out! Also, the beer is absolutely fabulous!

Thank you to everyone who came out for Brian Mathus' Opening at Blondie last night! It was a successful and wonderful evening. Special thanks to Chris Beck of Les Flaneurs for putting together such a fabulous musical group and performance! Photos from the opening to come!
I also am pleased to announce that beginning in June, Ben Pink from Launchpad Gallery and I will be curating a new space together, Hopworks Urban Brewery. We will be kicking it off with a solo show of paintings by Nathan Clark.
At Thirst Wine Bar & Bistro in June, we will be featuring the works of talented artist Krislyn Dillard. At the Opening Thirst will also be launching their new wine labels, featuring Krislyn's artwork! Congratulations to Krislyn for winning the wine label contest! Krislyn will be available to sign the purchased limited edition bottles.
Also in recent news, Tamara English and I have been hosting an artist salon at the MuseRoom at SE 42nd & Hawthorne, Portland, OR. Please click here for more info on the next event. It is a gathering specifically for professional artists of all disciplines, including music, literature, and performing artists of all kinds. The salon is an open forum to connect, share work, and discuss topics affecting us as artists. Let's join together, strengthen our ties, and continue to build community. What can we do together? In building a support network we can share resources and help each other achieve our individual and collective goals. Thank you to all of the artists who have been attending! There is no charge to attend. Please RSVP for next month's salon, to be held on Friday, June 27, 7 to 9 pm, by emailing mwallulisart@gmail.com, or just show up! There will be light refreshments provided but please feel free to bring a snack &/or non-alcoholic beverage to share.
In my own work, recent shows have included solo exhibitions at Crema, Sip D'Vine, the Side Door, and work in the 30+ artists in 30+ rooms show at Milepost 5, curated by Ben Pink and Chris Haberman. Milepost 5 is an up and coming artist's community of live/work spaces, creatively directed by Gavin Shettler. I have heard rumor of a write-up in Art Forum of the show, which was also a great success. Congratulations to Chris and Ben and all the artists involved!(On a side note - the Milepost 5 project itself is the subject of much discussion right now - artists - what do you think about it? Let's open up the topic for discussion. I think it is important for the developers also to hear feedback from artists in regards to this).
I am also excited to announce an upcoming solo exhibition for my own work, opening in September of this year at Smoke Gallery, Niagara Falls, Canada! I am creating a new body of work for the show. Many thanks to Johnny Smoke!
